Published by Ravan Press, Johannesburg, 1974. First edition, first printing. The rare variant in darker cloth of J M Coetzee’s first book. Signed by the author on the title page. A tight unread copy with the normal slant due to it being such a thin book. Tape marks showing on flaps, half-title page and rear end pages. The dust jacket on the outside is bright with none of the usual wear.  J M Coetzee was instrumental in establishing Oak Tree Fine Press and has generously signed many books to assist our efforts. The provenance of the signature is thus guaranteed.
