Modern First Editions – Booker Prize Winner – Signed

Stanley Middleton

Published by Hutchinson, 1974.  Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. First edition, first impression. The joint winner of the Booker Prize for 1974 and one of the very scarcest of all Booker Prize titles rarely seen signed. Signed by the author with the book’s opening line inscribed on the title page.  Rare Booker Prize band. Firm and square binding in sharp blue cloth; bright silver lettering to the spine; endpapers crisp and clean. The unclipped, first state dustwrapper (£2.75 net stated) is bright and vibrant without fading—a beautiful copy which has been archived since publication. To the best of our knowledge, no other copy exists in this condition and with this inscription. Oak Tree Fine Press has published a limited edition of the author’s work, who also generously signed a number of his books, this included, to assist in our efforts. The provenance of the signature is thus guaranteed.
